Last night, Keith Olbermann, the host of Countdown on MSNBC, in response to Donald Rumsfeld’s lies and spin speech this week about the Iraq war, has fired a shot across Donald’s, and the Bush administration’s, bow. The video clip of this is available in wmv, mov, and on YouTube, and the transcription is available here.
In this peice, Keith compares the Bush administration to that of pre-World War 2 England, and compares Rumsfeld’s tactics to those of Neville Chamberlain, an idiot who plunged England into the depths and horrors of war due to his own willful ignorance of the facts. He also brings up the fact that Rumsfeld and Bush have made a lot of money over their false war in Iraq, and also treat the American people has the enemy.
I totally agree with Keith, Bush has occupied the Office of the President of the United States for too long, and has sullied its name. The Office of the President has been held by many honorable men who did great things for our country and has also been held by people who were not quite as honorable, but never has anyone this malignant and vile held office before.
This man invaded two countries, and instead of helping them, he has single handedly crushed them and not only has failed to cull terrorist activities, but has caused them to increase many fold. He has screwed over our already flimsy relations with North Korea and Iran (two upcoming nuclear powers, ready to to join the haves and leave the have-nots behind), and he has also screwed over relations with nations we, at one time, could consider great allies.
The Bush Administration also not only ignores the threat of global warming, but helps to increase it by not signing the Kyoto treaty, something that most major pollution producing countries support, and may actually help reverse global warming. Not only that, he puts money before life, though the joke is on him: if the Earth bakes, it doesn’t matter how rich he will be, he cannot escape the heat.
I can honestly say there may be no man in existence, past or present, that has done this much damage to the United States. Keith Olbermann eloquently says what I cannot, and speaks to a wider audience than I ever could, and he is dead on with his analysis of the situation. He has balls to say the truth, instead of being a sock puppet of the Administration.
