Matrix Reloaded: Hacked
Saturday, September 2nd, 2006Matrix Reloaded: Hacked is a fan edit by Doctor M, and was created in response to the first Matrix film being quite good, and the second and third Matrix films not quite living up to the first.
Using reordering of scenes, switching scenes with Revolutions Hacked, and removal of pointless content that slows the film down and messes up the pacing, and changing other minor things, he manages to take a merely OK film and produces something worthy of the first Matrix.
I just finished watching Reloaded Hacked and, although I agree that Reloaded and Revolutions were not nearly as good as the first, I can say that I may be a new fan. Reloaded Hacked presents the film in a new light, and saves it from mediocrity.
Some of the scenes deleted include all the fanboyism ones from the kid who worships Neo (which were both pointless and annoying), and the scenes with Link’s wife (and the whole connection between him and Dozer and Tank).
Similarly, the only true flaws are that the fanboy has any scenes beyond the one getting yanked out of the elevator (all before and after aren’t needed as his character serves no real purpose, even him handing Neo the spoon is a pointless reference to the first Matrix), and that Link’s wife even appears. Since she can’t argue with Link about being on the Nebuchadnezzar, due to the whole scene being long, boring, and mostly pointless (Link’s wife being related to Dozer and Tank feels like something tacked on by the Wachowski brothers, anyhow.)
