Debian, fglrx, and Linux 2.6.30
Friday, July 3rd, 2009 at 12:31 amUsing the patches detailed here, I have produced a fglrx.tar.bz2 that builds.
Just drop it in /usr/src/ (replacing the old one) and module-assistant update,build,install fglrx like usual. Patched from Debian package version 1:9-5-1.
Update: fglrx 9.6 is now packaged in sid, this should contain the updates and work on 2.6.30.
Thanks, it works!!
Hi there Patrick
I tried your fglrx.tar.bz with kernel 2.6.30.2, but it fails again with error messages in /usr/src/modules/fglrx/firegl_public.c
I added the module assistant error messages @ pastebin (see the Website entry) You mind having a quick look at it?
I run Debian Lenny 5.0 with fglrx-source from Lenny repository (1:8-12-4)
Your error comes from trying to use my tarball with the wrong version of fglrx. Upgrade to sid’s version and try again.
Hi Patrick
You mean this one? fglrx-driver (1:9-6-3 and others)
I can’t install it. fglrx-driver depends on xserver-xorg (>= 1:7.4+1); I use Lenny with xserver-xorg (1:7.3+18).
No, 1:9-5-1, and its alright to install newer packages to meet dependencies.
1:9-5-1 is for amd64 arch, I use 32bit i386 packages
Then I don’t know, I’m not on i386, I’m on amd64.
thanks for this package, that’s works nice
