Lilo has proved time and time again that he is not competent to manage the network. The community paid him what, some $18,000 to manage the network? All that money, and the network gets compromised constantly. Bottom line, lilo is a single point of failure for the entire network. Lilo is the single biggest liability. His lack of proper security practice and his tendency to abuse his status makes freenode one of the worst places you could host your project discussions on. So sure, it's not cool when losers hack and slash away at services on the net, but at least it highlights that not only is lilo a jerk he is also clueless about security.
