Synfig Ubuntu Debs
Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 at 2:10 pmUpdate: (July 13th 2006) These debs are out of date and are no longer available for download. I have no interest on packaging these anymore.
I’ve recompiled Paul Wise’s Synfig Debian debs for Ubuntu, until Ubuntu Universe inherits them from Debian SID. Just add…
deb http://mjr.iki.fi/ubuntu/synfig/ ./
deb-src http://mjr.iki.fi/ubuntu/synfig/ ./
…to your /etc/apt/sources.list and run apt-get update and you’ll be able to use them. Please note, the binary packages are for x86 only; you’ll have to build from source to get these to work on other platforms. Also note, this version of etl is broken on x86-64, but has been fixed in CVS.
Thanks mjr, for hosting them!
I there,
I wasn’t able to install this package
I had many dependcy problems on breezy:
synfig: Hängt ab: libgcc1 (>= 1:4.0.2) aber 1:4.0.1-4ubuntu9 soll installiert werden
Hängt ab: libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.9.3) aber 2.8.3-0ubuntu1 soll installiert werden
Hängt ab: libglibmm-2.4-1c2a ist aber nicht installierbar
Hängt ab: libsigc++-2.0-0c2a (>= 2.0.2) ist aber nicht installierbar
Hängt ab: libstdc++6 (>= 4.0.2-4) aber 4.0.1-4ubuntu9 soll installiert werden
Hängt ab: libsynfig0 soll aber nicht installiert werden
Hängt ab: libxml++2.6c2a ist aber nicht installierbar
Hängt ab: libxml2 (>= 2.6.23) aber 2.6.21-0ubuntu1 soll installiert werden
Sorry for the german. I don’t know how to change…
Apparently, it doesn’t work on Breezy, but Dapper only. Upgrade to Dapper, and you’ll be fine.
Thanks for packaging these, it looks like a really exciting project and I’m looking forward to seeing it in action.
They seemeed to install fine, but when I try to run synfigstudio it exits with the following error:
GThread-ERROR **: GThread system may only be initialized once.
I’m running this on Ubuntu dapper 6.06. Any ideas?
Thanks
Not sure, actually. Hopefully Synfig will just end up in dapper or etch officially, so if it doesn’t work now, then wait for that. Also, try recompiling Synfig from the source debs.
That GThread-ERROR was reported to me today, and is fixed in svn r908. It’s a shame I only just found out about the bug, or the fix could have made it into the recent synfig release.
There’s a bug tracker on sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=144022&atid=757416
for synfig bugs.
Chris.
