You can easily lose the player window by not displaying it: Settings => Hide Player Window.

Also, a lot of this usability stuff is a matter of opinion, and I don't really think amaroK is the mess you refer to it as. The playlist is the best part for me.

Don't get me wrong, there are some things I'd like to be better, but amaroK is the best there is at the moment ...and getting better I might add.

Cheers

Your ideas are interesting, and have got me thinking on a tangent. I think you may be more pleased with 1.3 as we are doing some work on the playlist and will probably cater more to you.

But we won't be losing the playlist. I don't think it is a bad thing to hybridise the two schools of thought somewhat. I like having a playlist and I like having a library and I know I'm not alone, the download figures prove it ;-)

Many thanks for your post.

To be honest, I don't really think you know what you are talking about. As biased as I may be, I believe amaroK to be a well rounded and intuitive application, which caters for the greater percentage of the population.

I think the only point you have hit the jackpot with is the Home tab in the context browser. We are all aware that it is awful to look at, to use and it serves next to no purpose. You can be assured it will be revamped by the release of 1.3.
