Zyos is as talented, as sought after, as any myth you could make about him. And in the coming years, you will hear about Zyos. For one, he lives in Allen, Texas, and he’s practicing even tonight.

The Dallas Observer has published an article about Matt “Zyos” Leto, a guy slightly younger than I am who is habitually addicted to Halo, the famous Bungie produced, military themed, first person shooter for the XBox. However, if you made over us$80,000 a year doing this, you would be as well.

Do you know why they published a story about him? He isn’t the first to get payed to pay video games in a league/tournament styled setting. He also isn’t the first person to find hidden stuff in a video game. He isn’t the first to devote his life to becoming the best at video games. Replace “video games” with either “console video games” or “first person shooters” in all the reasons I just listed and they’re all true as well. Replace “video games” with “Quake” and you get Dennis “Thresh” Fong.

They published a story about him for one reason: Halo is popular. Halo is beyond popular. Halo is the reason Free Software fanatics buy the Microsoft game console. The only thing its missing is a keyboard and a mouse, and it would be perfection. It isn’t the best looking or the best sounding, or new story wise or game play wise. Its popular because everyone you know is playing it.
