Pirated Game Swears

“I am disgusted. This was their big Christmas present,” Mark told The Sun. “Beki was playing and said, ‘Daddy, there is a swear word.’ I said there couldn’t be because it was a Monsters, Inc game. But she said, ‘Daddy, it is the F-word’. She was upset because she did not expect to see it.”

For those who are in the Emulation scene, this is nothing new. Pirate and rom dump groups have bad habit of adding new stuff to the game, such as stupid demoscener-like intros, or just hacking the game’s intro text. The Sun, the British paper known for it’s flow of near constant bullshit, has decided to blame Disney for additional text added by pirates, instead of assigning the blame to the right people.

The pirating group ‘Mode 7′ added the F Dash Dash Dash word to their intro text, and the unsuspecting parent Mark Stewart bought a counterfeit cartridge and gave it to his 7 year old daughter for a Christmas Present. He then turns to The Sun and complains that Disney doesn’t have quality control on their products.

Now, like every other red-blooded American, I too hate Disney with a passion. But even against them, I do not think it is right to blame Disney for the work of an outside group.
