Daniel Stone, a member of Debian’s X Strike Force and also lead developer of Debrix, has found a way to increase Ubuntu’s boot time from the usual still-faster-than-Windows fast to I-just-burnt-my-eyebrows-off fast. Thats quite amazing, and I hope he backports all the changes to Debian Sid.
